Childline information evenings in May 2010
Calling all volunteers! Do you have an open mind and a spare 4 hours a week?
Childline are currently seeking volunteers for the ‘Childline Online’ service. Childline Online offers a listening and support service to anyone under the age of 18, in response to texts, emails and via the ‘One to One’ instant messenging service. You can find out more about us and the services that we offer at www.childline.ie.
If you are over 18, you can volunteer with us here in Childline. You don’t need to have any experience or formal qualifications, just an interest in what we do. As we said above, Childline is a listening service, so we answer emails, texts and talk with children and young people online with the aim of listening to them. We don’t tell young people what to do, instead we try to empower them to make their own decisions. A full training course in active listening skills will be provided along with ongoing supervision.
We are holding Information Evenings in May 2010 in Dublin 2 and interested candidates are invited to contact: Nicola McClean, Childline Online Admin Support via email on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or by calling (01) 2342006 by Friday, 14 May 2010.
Please be advised that places are limited so if you are interested in becoming a volunteer with Childline Online, please book your place without delay. Childline is a part of the ISPCC (The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children).
